Fiori di Capri

Decorated Maiolica

Fiori di Capri

Fiori di Capri one of the most famous islands in the world. Famous for the uniqueness of its territory, the exclusivity of its hotels, the sumptuousness of its Roman villas and the magnificence of the shopping street, which ranges from haute couture, to limoncello, to ceramics, up to typical handmade sandals. The force from the sea has contributed to jagged the coast and to create numerous caves and coves that alternate with steep precipices. One of the best known natural sites is the Blue Grotto, a cavity hidden under the cliff where the sea water lights up with a very particular color of electric blue due to the presence of an underground cave that filters the sunlight. A more unique than rare place whose landscape acquires an unrepeatable scenographic effect when the three stacks that rise from the sea with strength and majesty appear. A show that nature has wanted to give in this place known and loved by Roman emperors from Caesar Octavian to Augustus, to Tiberius. And it is precisely the strength and energy of the Faraglioni of Capri that represent the Grès Maiolicato® by Francesco De Maio. A particular technical stoneware obtained by means of an innovative sintering process of selected ceramic clays which, when pressed and fired in high-temperature ovens, allow the semigregification of the mixture which, glazed with the Bianco Vietri glaze or with particular types of glaze that give it the qualification of anti-slip with R10 value, it is then left to the mastery of the master decorators. After years of research, Ceramica Francesco De Maio technologically innovates its craftsmanship without failing to use the ancient technique of decoration still made by hand piece by piece. And so, the majolica collections, from the most classic to the most modern, acquire the technical characteristics of quality, resistance, impermeability, frost resistance and longevity typical of stoneware which, enriched by the manual skill of hand decorations, give life to the exclusive Grès Maiolicato® by Ceramica Francesco De Maio.
